Corn capsicum toast


Last week I made pasta with white sauce after along time. I generally avoid white sauce being health conscious. But that day I was feeling indulgent and decided to eat pasta wit white sauce while catching up on the latest episodes of the big bang theory šŸ™‚ The next day I had this extra white sauce which I made use of in this toast!! I must tell you it was soo goood! We even used it as a dip for pita bread šŸ™‚ Now to the recipe:


  • 1 tbsp butter (more if u wish)
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (use as required)
  • 1/2 cup corn
  • 1/2 cup finely diced capsicum ( any color)
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • salt to taste

Italian seasoning and chilli flakes (optional)

bread slices as needed

Butter for toasting the bread


Take a pan and heat butter. Add flour and saute for few seconds.

Add milk slowly and keep stirring continuously as you pour.

Add salt, black pepper, sugar, (Italian seasoning, chilli flakes) and mix well.

The mixture will thicken in sometime. Set it aside.

In another pan add little oil and saute the onions until they turn transparent and soft, then add the corn and capsicum and saute until they are browned. (You can add other veggies of your choice if you wish)

Add the sauteed veggies to your white sauce along with the parmesan cheese and mix well.

Now toast the bread wit butter and apply this delicious spread on the bread and enjoy!


You can add any seasoning as you wish.

Veggies like carrots, brocolli can be added too.

This recipe is not for the calorie conscious people šŸ˜‰
